THE VOORKAMERFEST
From 1 – 3 September, the inimitable Voorkamerfest once again takes a bow – one of the most innovative cultural events of its kind in the world.
Venues and performances by top South African and international performers remain a surprise on each of the six minivan tours to various voorkamers (front rooms) in this pretty pastoral dorpie. What’s particularly special is that the voorkamers are in homes ranging from small township houses to stately Victorian dwellings.

THE DARLING WILDFLOWER SHOW
This show fetes the Cape Fynbos Kingdom from 15 – 17 September. Encompassing Renosterveld, Rietveld, Sandveld and Strandveld, it’s a wow with 1 200-plus flower species.
A ticket includes entry to the landscaped hall depicting the area’s flowers in their natural habitat; a free tractor-drawn wagon ride to Oude Post’s pristine wetland; a Craft & Gourmet Food Market; the Veteran Tractor/Car Display; and an Entertainment Tent featuring big-name Swartland band, Klassik.
