This September, Melkbosstrand is swapping sea spray for a splash of creativity. From 21-27 September, the inaugural Melkbosstrand ART/FILM Festival transforms the suburb into a vibrant celebration of art, film, music, poetry and community.
Independent films from around the globe, poetry readings, live music, book launches, hands-on art workshops, complimentary art valuations by Aspire Art and imaginative CapeLUG LEGO® creations all combine to create an experience that’s anything but ordinary.
One of the festival’s highlights arrives with Karen Zoid’s Zoid Spawn on the 25th—a fusion of music, storytelling and visual art.
The grand finale belongs to the Melkbos Ateljee Open Studios on the 26th and 27th when more than 30 artists welcome visitors into their studios across 14 locations. Wander through creative spaces, meet the makers and watch inspiration at work.
