Too sexy for its boots

What’s great about Shiraz is that it’s always been a very soulful wine. Spirit, poetry and soulfulness – words that come up time and again when discussing a good Shiraz. And for most wine drinkers, that’s what matters most. It’s not about the DNA of the grapes, it’s about the link Shiraz offers us to the romance of this fabled wine.

Cloof Winery’s The Very Sexy Shiraz 2018 is a deep, dark ruby red colour. It has the intense and complex flavours of white pepper, cloves and cinnamon, supported by dark fruit flavours on the nose, following through to the palate.

Grown in vineyards near Darling described as ‘Shiraz Heaven’, this wine’s luscious fruit was accessorised with French Oak. The result was a full-bodied wine with soft ripe tannins and intense spicy flavours.

So it came to be that the seductive drinking appeal of this Shiraz led to an appropriately audacious name. And The Very Sexy Shiraz comes into its own with the big flavours of roast duck in plum sauce, brisket, stew, lamb or venison.

Soak up the sun on the expansive lawn of The Cloof Cellar Door while tasting the Winemakers Selection, Signature range and Duckitt collection. And/or make a meal of it with eats from The Cloof Kitchen.
