Christmas markets on the West Coast

Don’t choose bricks or clicks for your Christmas shopping this season. Instead, tap into regional mores and rhythms at country markets for original gifts and festive eats. The economic relevance of these markets is huge: they make a significant contribution to the local economy, create temporary jobs and increase sales for local shops and cafés. Local is lekker.

These are the go-to Christmas markets on the West Coast this year.

The Riebeek Valley Village Market

A variety of home-made products, arts, crafts, homeware, décor, artisan foods, baked goods and gifts from 35 vendors are yours to choose from.

Saturday 4 November, 9h00 – 14h00; Saturday 16 December is the annual Christmas market, 16h00 – 20h00. At The Village Square, Riebeek-Kasteel. Contact Sean/Kobie 073 3078289.

West Coast Wanderer Market

Right on our doorstep, this chilled market has clothing accessories, woodwork, books, plants, plus arts and crafts. And enjoy a cuppa and cake or slap-up meals at the restaurant.

The Craft Expo @ Langebaan

What a killer event this is! More than 190 stalls of the best in crafts, cookies and treats, plus tiptop food prepared by the West Coast Chef School.
