Die Hut accommodation in Moorreesburg

There are places that whisper their virtues. Die Hut, on Ebenhaezer farm in Moorreesburg, is one such retreat. The lawns are cut to meditative precision, palm trees tilt in the afternoon light, farm animals provide polite company and a slow rhythm persuades visitors: here, you’ll unwind, whether you intended to or not.

Each of the nine ensuite rooms at The Farmhouse has its own doorway to a porch or courtyard. Inside: simplicity, finished with care. Daisy Town has five rooms aligned along a shared veranda, creating its own relaxation republic. It’s well suited to groups—near enough to the campsite to share an adventurous vibe but far enough to remain comfortable.

The self-catering four-sleeper Apartment 4 provides all the equipment for domestic adventure, giving you the nagging sense you should cook. But its patio, complete with a braai, is more persuasive.

And for the tent crowd? Eleven grass stands, each with private ablutions. There’s a trampoline too, because nothing says rustic like bouncing before bedtime.

Lest we forget: at the on-site Die Hut restaurant, it’ll be difficult not to blimp out – discussed in our October 2018 edition. The food is par excellence.

Although there’s much to do (Swartland wine farm tastings, the Koringberg hiking/MTB trail and swimming in the two pools), Die Hut’s persuasion lies in the ease of doing nothing.
