Cycle on water at Langebaan

Never mind walking on water, you can now cycle on water at Langebaan!

Sorta like a micro-mini catamaran with pontoons (and just as stable, according to West Coast Sea Bikes owner Alonso Canacho), these waterborne bikes allow you to see Langebaan from a different angle – literally. Every ride is a tiny holiday.

If you can ride a bike, it’s a piece of cake. And heck, if only all full-body exercises were as much fun as this. The sports and recreational water cycle is self-propelled and has the same performance as a bicycle, achieving a cruising speed of 7 kph, but you’re welcome to crank it up to 25 kph.

For the sake of open-water sensibility, radios and life jackets are provided, but you can leave the helmets and Lycra on shore.

Located at Mykonos Adventure Centre; rates: 1-hour guided ocean trip = R300; 30-minute marina trip = R200; Book online at westcoastadventures.co.za; 022 7078070.
